A Little About Truro
Local lore has it that although the Pilgrims declared the area occupied by present-day Truro to be unsuitable for settlement, they discovered corn, buried by Native Americans for storage, in what is now known as Corn Hill in Truro. Equally unsuitable to modern Truro residents was a proposed communications tower, which they blocked from being constructed for almost twenty years out of a concern over development detrimental to the town’s rural atmosphere.
