A Little About Ashland
Though able to trace its origins all the way back to the Colonial Era, it wasn’t until the Postwar Period that Ashland began to experience significant population growth as a bedroom community for Boston, a scant twenty-two miles away. However, most of Ashland still possesses the look and feel of a typical New England residential town, and it maintains small-town traditions like an annual town fair and rival football games with neighboring towns. The Boston Marathon used to begin in Ashland.
