A Little About Maynard
Named after an early mill owner, Maynard is home to the oldest working hand-wound clock in the country, which sits atop the former Assabet Woolen Mill (and which, incidentally, is referred to by real Maynardians as “the town clock,” and not “the mill clock"). At one time, most of the wool in the uniforms of the United States military were made in Maynard.
